  I recently had the pleasure of test riding a Zero S 11kw. Now, I have ridden bikes for a number of years and owned a large range of bikes throughout that time. I ride a lot of miles (about 15k a year average) and commute everyday on my bike. I had never really thought about electric bikes before I saw English Electric advertised. I decided to take the plunge and see what they are all about. I had my doubts about electric, it is responsive? Is it fast? Whats the range? How does charging work in the real world? I had a chat with Alec who is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions but he suggested that I have a test ride to see for myself. Another thing about me, I am a disabled rider and require all my controls (Throttle, brake, clutch) all on the left. Test riding bikes has always been an issue for me as dealers don't want to bother converting for me to have a go. However, Alec was very accommodating and went that extra mile converting the bike over for me (which was no easy task) so I could have a go. So the bike... Bearing in mind I rode the 11kw 125 variant that can be ridden a L plates, it blew me away. It pulled like nothing I can describe. It felt like I was on a 800 rather than a 125 and would cruise happily at 75mph. The bike was quiet, smooth, very responsive and handled like a dream. It gave me a huge smile across my face and I didn't want to give it back. In fact when I did get back on my 800 for the journey home, I felt a bit bored and wanted the thrill of the Zero again. So to sum up then, the Zero far surpassed my expectations and left me wanting more. The next step for me is to rest ride the full powered version and and wait for the 2018 models which claim to deliver 10% more of everything. That is something I want to try and to be honest, buy I would like to thank Alec for helping me out by converting the bike and answering all the questions I had. I have never been into a bike shop where the owner pays so much attention to their customers. Alec is a top notch guy and a credit Zero Motorcycles. So I would say head down to English Electric with an open mind and trust me, you won't be disappointed. This is the future #makethechange
